This day starts heading westwards from Quito into the lush cloud forest of the external slopes of the Western Northern Andes, one of the areas of the highest biodiversity of Ecuador.
Weather permitting we’ll get a chance for a magnificent view of the Pululahua Crater.
We’ll have an interesting stop at the Pahuma Reserve to enjoy a fairly easy hike through the magnificent private collection of native orchids and the verdant forest to arrive to the pristine waterfall that names the area. Continue to the town of Mindo to visit the butterfly farm. Then we’ll arrive to a charming bird sanctuary for lunch where will have a chance to effortlessly observe a grand variety of humming bird species and maybe some tanagers, trogons or even toucans. After lunch we’ll start our way back to Quito. Book now
