6078 Hectares are dedicated in this private reserve to the protection of flora and fauna species characteristic of the remnants of dry tropical forest. This reserve is an important refuge to different types of monkeys, brocket deer, felines, etc that we have a good chance to see, while strolling the trails created on the reserve at different degrees of difficulty according to your requirements. Cerro Blanco protects nine globally threatened bird species.
There are 219 bird species registered in Cerro Blanco, from which 30 have restricted ranges and 24 are endemic to the Tumbesian Region. Specially important and symbolic is the Guayaquil Macaw.
